General Technology Questions
No. DECT is designed for use with desktop phones. Combo models can connect both to a desk phone and a computer via a dongle. If you only use a computer for calls (Zoom, Teams, and other VoIP apps), we also offer Softphone-only headsets.
A Softphone is simply software that lets you make phone calls from your computer using the internet. Common examples are Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) applications.
DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) is a wireless protocol, like Bluetoothâ, but has a range of up to 500’ compared with 33’ for Bluetoothâ. It uses secure radio frequencies to prevent interference and eavesdropping.
Secure Audio
Yes. The Spracht Aura Professional™ CP-3010 is an analog-only conference phone that connects via standard RJ-11 to any PSTN landline or analog PBX. It requires no internet connection, no app, and no network configuration. It works out of the box in any country in the world, making it practical for embassies, overseas offices, and international operations.
Internet-connected conference room devices — those with IP addresses, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth — can potentially be accessed, monitored, or exploited remotely. Analog-only devices with no network interfaces cannot. The Spracht Aura Professional™ CP-3010 has no IP network connectivity, no remote access capability, and no firmware update pathway — there is nothing for an attacker to reach, and nothing to account for in a security audit.

DECT headsets are generally better suited to HIPAA-sensitive environments than Bluetooth headsets because they do not broadcast on shared frequencies, cannot be paired by unauthorized devices, and do not connect to your data network. The Spracht ZuMMaestro DECT™ headsets connect only to their dedicated base station — voice traffic never touches your IT infrastructure, and there is no data path to monitor, log, or secure.
For government and defence environments, the key requirements are typically: no network interfaces, no Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, no remote access capability, and no data leaving the room. The Spracht Aura Professional™ CP-3010 conference phone and ZuM Maestro DECT™ headset series are both designed around these requirements — analog or DECT-only operation, no data retained on any network, and no dependency on third-party cloud infrastructure.
Law firms handling privileged communications need equipment that cannot be accessed remotely, does not connect to the internet, and leaves no digital record on their network. The Spracht Aura Professional™ CP-3010 is an analog conference phone with no IP connectivity, no Bluetooth, and no network interfaces. For environments where attorney-client confidentiality is non-negotiable, it is the conference phone that removes the question entirely.
DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) is a dedicated short-range radio standard used for voice communication. Unlike Bluetooth, DECT operates on its own dedicated frequency band, connects only to its paired base station, and does not interact with your Wi-Fi network or other devices. It cannot be discovered, paired, or intercepted by nearby devices the way Bluetooth can. For organizations where a wireless device must not be discoverable or interceptable, DECT is the correct choice over Bluetooth.
VoIP conference phones connect to your data network and transmit voice as data packets — they have IP addresses, require firmware updates, and can be accessed remotely. Analog conference phones connect to a dedicated phone line and transmit voice as an electrical signal. They have no network presence, no software vulnerabilities, and no remote access capability. For environments where voice communications must stay off the data network entirely, analog is the only choice that guarantees it.
A truly secure conference phone has no network interfaces — no internet connectivity, no Bluetooth, no Wi-Fi, no remote access capability. It operates on analog PSTN or PBX lines only. Voice calls leave no data trail on your network, and there is no software or firmware that can be accessed, updated, or exploited remotely. The Spracht Aura Professional™ CP-3010 meets all of these criteria — giving your organization a conference phone with nothing to inventory, patch, or defend.
