For Immediate Release
New York, NY, November 10, 2015 – Spracht today announced that it has been named a CES 2016 Innovation Awards Honoree for Zum eco-Set™ USB/DECT 6.0 Headset. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 27 product categories.
Zum eco-Set™ DECT headset is wireless with a difference. DECT headsets provide the convenience and freedom to move away from your desk while still attending to phone calls. Lately, though, there’s been a concern that the constant radio frequency pulse they emit 24/7 may result in adverse health effects.
The Zum eco-Set™ DECT Headset, the first of its kind, dynamically adjusts its RF output in the headset to the lowest level needed for communication, and when not in use, stops emitting.
Although Zum eco-Set™ DECT Headset reduces the power output and radio frequency of the headsets, it still retains the quality of the audio.
The base station adjusts the radio frequency in four steps depending on the distance between the headset and the base. The closer it is to the base, the lower its power output. Here’s how that works: the emissions vary from no emissions, when the headset is in the off position and in standby mode, to 2% of maximum when someone is close to the base station, say working at their desk, to 8% of maximum when walking away from the base station. Only when someone is far from the base station would the level need to rise to maximum.
“We think our customers will really like the combination of freedom of movement, quality audio, and lower emissions they will experience with these new headsets”, says Gary Crock, VP of Global Business Development and Sales. “In terms of radiation emissions, there is nothing proven that the small amounts of radiation emitted is dangerous when using any wireless devices. But I do think that people would rather have lower emissions wherever possible just as a common-sense precaution.”
Adds Gary, “And we appreciate that the judges saw the advantages just as we did, and awarded Spracht our 9th Innovations award”.
The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)TM, the producer of CES 2016, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.
Spracht’s Zum eco-Set™ DECT 6.0 Headset will be displayed at CES 2016, which runs January 6-9, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada. A selection of Honorees will also be displayed at CES Unveiled New York, which features dozens of exhibitors and networking opportunities and runs 4:30-7:30 PM November 10 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York.
Entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace and unique/novelfeatures present.
Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market.
CES 2016 Innovation Honoree products are featured on CESweb.org/Innovation, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, description, photo and URL.
